Bomber Country Guild Recce

The Guild Bomber County Recce will take place on Saturday 13 June 2026. The recce will look at the development of Bomber Command from 1939 to 1945.
The outline programme is:
Meet at the Holdingham Roundabout at 1000. Junction of the A17 and A15 on the NW corner of Sleaford – good parking and places to eat available.
We will visit the war graves at Coningsby Churchyard, the site of the former RAF Metheringham, and the excellent Lincolnshire Aviation Museum at the former RAF East Kirkby. Lincs Aviation Heritage Centre.

The recce will be “guided” by Chris Finn, Andy Johnson and Simon Burgess.
The cost to attendees is limited to the entry fee for the East Kirkby museum (£12.50 for adults, discounts for over 60s, armed forces etc) and lunch in the cafe at East Kirkby.
We will publish a more detailed itinerary for those attending nearer the time. There are many other sites relating to RAF Bomber Command in the Lincolnshire area Lincoln Aviation Trail that members may wish to add on the day before or afterwards in their own time.
