CWGC

The Guild of Battlefield Guides is proud to work with the Commonwealth War Graves Commission in several joint ventures providing benefits for the members of both organisations. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Guided tours of Commission cemeteries by GBG members
  • Research tools for members leading commercial tours

British Commission for Military History

The Guild of Battlefield Guides is proud to work with the British Commission for Military History in several joint ventures providing benefits for the members of both organisations.  This includes but is not limited to:

The British Commission for Military History was founded in 1965 as the national branch of
the International Commission for Military History.  It serves as a forum for the discussion and
promotion of military history in the broadest sense, without restriction as to period or region.
The Object of the BCMH is to promote through research, publication and discussion the
understanding of military history in the broadest sense, without restriction as to period or
region.
The BCMH strives to become a leading members’ group for military history, offering an
appealing range of activities, dynamic in research, discussion and publication, and recognized
both for the quality of our work and our social esprit, while attracting and retaining members
from a wide set of backgrounds, whether professionally engaged or not.
