Another in our series of Guild webinars will be delivered by Chris Finn, the Guild’s Accreditation Director.
Following on from David Harvey’s webinar concerning unintended mistakes in sources, I will be looking at the problem of deliberate falsification in sources. In other words “why do authors lie?” I will look at a number of examples where official and unofficial sources, both primary and secondary ones, contain falsifications which range from the subtle to the absolute “whopper”. I will then go on to explain why these falsifications have been made. Finally, I will offer a series of questions which researchers should ask of the sources they intend to use.
