The Municipality of Almeida
In Flanders Fields Museum
In Flanders Museum is one of the key features of the Western Front battlefields at Ieper. We are proud to have a relationship with the museum in which our members are welcome to work in the research centre and take groups to the museum. The museum has a permanent exhibition covering the history of WW1 and the battles at Ypres. There are frequent temporary exhibitions that focus on aspects of confrontation or particular themes of WW1.

A SplashMap is part of the essential equipment for tour guiding. The whole concept is based upon the perfect preppers or even escape and evasion maps from the WW2 era. How better to share pivotal moments in history, train for future battles or prepare for survival than with a SplashMap in your pack?

SECRET WW2
The Secret WW2 Learning Network
The Secret WW2 Learning Network (SECRET WW2 for short) is an educational charity aiming to create greater public awareness of the contributions and experiences of the men and women who took part during WW2 in Allied special operations, intelligence-gathering and resistance. Based on its guiding principles to ‘educate, commemorate and inspire’, we have established a unique partner network of historians, researchers, authors, associations, museums, local communities, and media outlets who work with the charity’s Trustees and volunteers to develop learning initiatives and special commemorative events. This network includes serving personnel, and veterans, of British and Allied armed forces.
SECRET WW2 events include: lectures; presentations (including by Zoom); walk & talk events; and special events, such as the installation of plaques and information boards at relevant historical sites, nationally and internationally. We have access to a unique archive of filmed personal testimony from more than a hundred British ‘secret warriors’ and French resisters which provides a key resource to help bring recognition to these remarkable people and their wartime exploits. We also offer annual bursaries; sponsor relevant publications; and some of our trustees lead Battlefield Tours and Battlefield Studies for SECRET WW2 Friends and some British and foreign military units. SECRET WW2 is also associated with ‘SOE Expeditions’, a company specialising in SOE and SF Endurance and Survival Expeditions. More details of Events, News and Resources, and how to become a ‘Friend’ or ‘Supporter’ (and the associated benefits) are available on our website: https://secret-ww2.net/
SECRET WW2 was established in 2014 and is registered in the UK as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) No. 1156796.
