Safeguarding

About our Safeguarding Policy and reporting safeguarding issues and concerns

The International Guild of Battlefield Guides takes the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults very seriously.

We believe that children under the age of 18 years and vulnerable adults should never experience abuse of any kind.

We recognise that all persons, regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, race, religion or belief, sex, or sexual orientation have an equal right to protection from all types of harm or abuse.

Equally, we have a duty to act on reports or suspicions of abuse and we therefore adopt a zero-tolerance of abuse within the Guild and on behalf of Members. This applies to reports and suspicions of abuse by any Member whether or not engaged in activities of the Guild.

If you have any safeguarding issues or concerns about a Guild Member in relation to a child under the age of 18 years or a vulnerable adult, you may contact our Designated Safeguarding Lead to discuss or report those issues or concerns.

Full details of how to contact our Designated Safeguarding Lead or our Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead are set out in the Safeguarding Policy. You can also send an email direct to our Designated Safeguarding Lead by clicking this link. If you would like a telephone call back, please provide your number.

The procedure under which we deal with reports on safeguarding issues is set out in our Safeguarding Reporting Procedure
