The Guild's Member Badges

Badges are an important means of identifying with an organisation. The badges that we have adopted for our Members are there for that purpose and this is what they denote.....

Our Accredited Members’ Badge

Awarded to Accredited Guild Members who have completed and passed all of the assignments in the Guild’s Accreditation Programme. It guarantees to the battlefield visitor or tour operator that the wearer has been prepared, assessed and registered in accordance with the Guild’s standards of knowledge, practice and performance of the duty of care and that the Guide is able to communicate his or her extensive expertise in an interesting and entertaining manner.

The award of the badge and Accredited Member status is personal to the Member and should not be used by a battlefield guiding business itself to imply that the business is accredited or recognised as such by the Guild. Guidelines on the use of the Accredited Members Badge may be found in the Guidelines on the use of Guild Symbols.

Our Members’ Badge

All Guild Members upon joining the Guild are entitled to wear and use the Members’ Badge to signify that they are Guild Members. It also signifies to battlefield visitors and tour operators that the Member subscribes to the mission of the Guild as well as the Guild’s Code of Conduct. All Members are expected to follow the Code and their conduct will be judged against it if so required under the Guild’s Complaints Policy and Procedure.

Like the Accredited Members’ Badge, the Members’ Badge  is personal to the Member and should not be used by a battlefield guiding business itself to imply that the business is affiliated, associated or recognised by the Guild. Guidelines on the use of the  Members Badge may also be found in the Guidelines on the use of Guild Symbols.

The Guild Supporters’ Logo

You might also come across the Guild Supporters’ logo on business websites belonging or affiliated to Guild Members. The logo is for use by Guild Members on their websites and when used, the Member is by implication stating that the business supports the aims and objectives of the Guild and the standards that the Guild sets by way of standards of knowledge, practice and conduct. Its use is subject to conditions, for which the relevant Member is responsible on behalf of that business.
